IEEE 1284 / Bi-Directional Printer Cable

A Word about Parallel Printer Cables:

 18 conductor cables are recommended only for dot matrix type printers.
 25 conductor cables are recommended for dot matrix and non bitronics type laser printers & scanners.
 IEEE 1284 is a new parallel interface type that allows true high speed bi-directional parallel communication. To take true advantage of this new interface, you must use an IEEE 1284 compliant cable. These new cables use three connector types: "A" (DB25M.) "B" (Cent 36M), and the new connector "C" (High Density Centronics 36M).
